About Women Graduates–USA
Women Graduates–USA is a nonprofit organization whose members’ passions are expressed in our Mission Statement: “to create a secure and just world built on education, advocacy, friendship and mutual respect.”
In mission, goals, and practice, WG–USA values and seeks a diverse and inclusive membership. Women Graduates–USA encourages full participation in the organization by members and those who support our mission goals and values to advance women and girls’ equity regardless of race, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. WG–USA has adopted this Diversity Statement.
WG–USA is the US Affiliate of Graduate Women International. GWI is the leading global organization of women advocating for women’s and girls’ rights, equality, and empowerment through access to quality education. All full members of Women Graduates–USA are members of Graduate Women International.
Our international perspective informs our advocacy for social and economic justice for all women and girls. Issue expertise is granted to WG–USA through its Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Women Graduates–USA members are its leaders. WG–USA is governed by an elected Board of Directors with appointed Committee, Working Group, and Task Force Conveners. WG–USA leadership includes our liaisons with GWI and fellow affiliates around the globe, the United Nations community, and our partner organizations and businesses.
Women Graduates–USA is governed by Bylaws, managed by Policies, and inspired to advocacy and action by our Core Issues and adopted Resolutions. For more information, read our Publications.
Women Graduates–USA members meet regularly throughout the year. The Board of Directors meets monthly; Committees meet as needed; and the Annual General Meeting convenes each fall to conduct business, elect Board members, appoint leadership, and energize our membership for the coming year.
Throughout the year, WG–USA presents a diverse range of webinars, webcasts, and seminars. Issue experts, academia, members and partners collaborate on these presentations. Visit the WG–USA Library of Webinars, Webcasts and Seminars.
Membership in Women Graduates-USA is open to any woman who has earned an undergraduate (four-year or equivalent) or more advanced degree, or is currently enrolled full- or part-time in an undergraduate program in active pursuit of a degree.
